Dog Parks in the District of Columbia are built and maintained by the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) in partnership with the public.
In December 2007, final dog park regulations and rules were issued which allowed for the creation of official, public dog parks on District-owned parkland -- outdoor property within the possession and control of the Government of the District of Columbia.
DPR is currently accepting dog park applications from sponsoring groups to develop new public dog parks across the District.
