Georgetown Poolhouse Capital Improvement Program The New Georgetown Poolhouse Location 34th Street and Volta Place, NW, Washington, DC 20007 Planned Use The current public facility will be replaced by a multipurpose recreation and activity space and poolhouse. General Description The existing 2-story building provides locker rooms and office space for Georgetown Pool. The building and pool are located within Georgetown-Volta Park, which includes ball fields, playgrounds, and basketball courts. The building and park are used for childcare during the summer months. Building Improvements The building will receive a full interior renovation. It will be reconfigured to provide additional activity space, improved circulation, full ADA access with elevator, new locker rooms and shower facilities, office space, and a new guard stand. All plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems will be upgraded, and the building will be air conditioned. The exterior of the building will receive cosmetic improvements to match the character of the Georgetown community. The pool deck will be reconfigured to provide more useful space. All pool mechanical and filtering equipment will be upgraded. The pool structure and shell are being investigated for possible improvements. Provide Your Feedback
