Youth Sports - Track and Field

The Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) Track and Track and Field program is a great opportunity for youth to participate in an Olympic sport. Track and Field also gives youth the chance to travel outside of the District and meet and compete with youth from across the country.
DC Speed is DPR's youth Track and Field club.
Athletes will learn the fundamentals including training, stretching, and nutrition. Track and Field teaches youth to not only how to grow as an individual, but how to be a member of a team - building self esteem and creating experiences that can assist youth both on and off the track.
DPR Track and Field operates under the guidelines of
USA Track and Field (USATF), the National Governing Body for track and field, long-distance running and race walking in the United States. USATF encompasses the world's oldest organized sports, the most-watched events of Olympic broadcasts, the #1 high school and junior high school participatory sport and more than 30 million adult runners in the United States. The regional association of USA Track and Field is the
Potomac Valley Association.
